Jewelry Size Guide
A practical reference for finding the right fit for rings, bracelets, and necklaces.
1. Ring Size Guide
To determine your ring size, measure the finger where the ring will be worn. Finger size can change throughout the day, so measure in the evening when fingers are at their largest.
Measurement Methods
- String or strip method: Wrap a thin strip of paper or string around the base of your finger. Mark where the ends overlap, then measure the length with a ruler. This is your finger circumference.
- Measuring tape method: Wrap a soft measuring tape around your finger and read the circumference in millimeters.
- Existing ring method: Measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits you well. Match it to the inside diameter column below.

- Measure your finger in warm temperatures at the end of the day.
- If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.
- For wide-band rings, consider going up half a size for comfort.
- Left and right hands may differ in size; measure the specific finger you plan to wear the ring on.
2. Bracelet Size Guide
Bracelet size is based on wrist circumference plus a small allowance for comfort. A well-fitting bracelet should move slightly on the wrist without slipping off.
Measurement Methods
- Measuring tape method: Wrap a soft measuring tape snugly around your wrist, just below the wrist bone. Read the circumference.
- String method: Wrap a string around your wrist, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length with a ruler.
- Existing bracelet method: Lay a bracelet you already wear flat and measure its full length, including the clasp.
Add approximately 1.5 to 2 cm (0.6 to 0.8 inches) to your wrist measurement to determine your ideal bracelet length. For a snug fit, add 1 cm; for a comfortable fit, add 1.5 cm; for a loose fit, add 2 cm.

- Chain bracelets usually need about 2 cm of ease for graceful movement.
- Bangles must be large enough to pass over the widest part of your hand, not just your wrist.
- Measure with your hand relaxed and slightly cupped, as it would be when putting on a bracelet.
- Hands may swell slightly in warm weather, so avoid overly tight measurements.
3. Necklace Length Guide
Necklace length affects where the pendant or chain sits on the body. The same length may look different depending on neck size, height, and body shape. Use the chart and reference image below as a general guide.

Reference: necklaces worn at different lengths on an adult model.
Necklace Length Chart
| Name | Length | Length | Position on Body | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| inch | cm | |||
| Collar | 14" | 35 | Base of neck | Open necklines |
| Choker | 16" | 41 | At or just above collarbone | Crew necks, dresses |
| Princess | 18" | 46 | Just below collarbone | Everyday wear |
| Princess Plus | 20" | 51 | Several inches below collarbone | Layering |
| Matinee | 22" | 56 | Upper chest | Business / formal |
| Matinee Plus | 24" | 61 | Center of chest | Evening wear |
| Opera | 28" | 71 | Below bust line | High necklines |
| Rope | 32" | 81 | Mid-torso | Long statement pieces |
| Rope Plus | 36" | 91 | Near navel | Doubled or knotted styles |
- 18 inches (46 cm) is the most versatile length and a safe default for gifts.
- Petite frames may find that shorter chains look more proportional, while longer chains can elongate the silhouette on taller figures.
- Long necklaces can be wrapped or layered to create multiple looks from one piece.
- Consider the neckline of your outfit: chokers suit high necklines, while opera and rope lengths work well over dresses and blouses.
